Pacing, effort, or HR? Oh my!!!

Hey guys, I'm confused as to whether I'm supposed to be using pace, pace and HR, or just HR for the work outs. Just really starting to get into a rhythm. HR seems to lie to me. Having a little trouble figuring the pacing. Also I'm assuming to use MPH on bike trainer since I don't have a power meter. As always thanks in advance for your help.  Ps about what will a power meter run me?

  • Bike: HR first, speed is a result of that (if not using a power meter)
    Run: Pace first, HR second.

Email Coach Rich (I think it's rich@endurancenation.us) for power meter pricing options for you.

Right into a whole new world of pain!

  • Brian, if you on the bike trainer, one easy option to get start with out much investment is to check out a virtual power solution (like trainerroad.com, there is a group in EN doing some test with it this month image .

You can connect your bike with you PC and the software will calculate power in relation to your speed on the trainer and its resistant level.

Long term a PM on the bike is more useful.
