Solar flare and GPS
I woke up this morning and caught the tail end of the weather report. What got my attention was the possible effects of our recent solar flare. It was briefly mentioned that it could interrupt/damage satellites that we use for our mobile GPS units. Any thoughts?
I understand there was a similar event in 2006. Did anyone notice any negative effects? I wasn't training then.
