Running Outside
Question for the team:
Today going to run home from work 2 x 1.5 miles 1 mile easy in between. During my run home usually I get stopped at stop lights. So during one of my 1.5 miles if I have to stop at a red light what should I do?
a. Pause the watch
b. Just track how long I'm stopped and run that many mins/secs longer
c. If I track how long I stop at a light 30", double it to 1'
d. Other?

Two thoughts:
• If you have a GPS watch (Garmin), you can set it to auto pause when you are stopped.
• What I do is use the stop lights as part of my recovery. Instead of insisting to myself that I have to run *exactly* 1 mile intervals, I just note the total interval work (say, 2.5 miles), and the total recovery time (say, 7 or 10 minutes), and make sure it adds up, including the time I'm stopped as part of my recovery time.
I do NOT run in place while I'm stopped. I need all the rest I can get!
