Powerbeam Pro
I'm new to the whole power thing and just purchased a powerbeam pro indoor trainer. For some reason I start pedaling and everything is fine but then it locks up and I can't pedal

Chris - I have a Powerbeam Pro with the Joule 3. I'm not sure this is the cause of your issue, but on the lower left of the Joule is a toggle that shifts the unit between training power and training slope. If it is set on training power then you MUST do whatever the power setting is or you will lock up. E.g., if you set training power at 220 watts and drop below you are going to stop. Conversely, say you set your training power at 200 watts, and try to jump up to 300 watts real time...that will be very hard because as soon as you pass 200 the unit is going to ease the tension to get you back to 200. Mine always starts in training power mode, so the first thing I do when I start is toggle to training slope and usually hold it at a 0% grade -- then your real time watts are whatever you produce. One other thing...be sure you've calibrated the unit using the roll down test in the instructions. Hope that helps...elsewise call customer service directly. I love my powerbeam and have had great improvement since I got it.
