Q 4 Coaches re: Bike Zones.
Are they a straight x% of the average HR from your testing?
I didn't go hard enough in my test, My heartrate slowly climbs from 120-ish BPM up to 140-ish BPM, giving me an average of 132.
Just wondering, wait a day or two and try it again (harder), or just go with the zones that the calculator gave me back?
I'm curious, considering the Zones seem to be based on %LTHR, why does the tool ask for weight and distance? Just curious..

Thanks!!

I don't know about the straight percentages, but just use the Zones the calculator gives you. If you find that they are too easy, then you can either retest or slowly up the HR numbers.
The tool asks for weight and distance just so you can look at your historical data, plus if you test on the same course an increase in distance will be an indirect measure of increased fitness (assuming a number of things such as wind, bike positioning, etc..... but it is better than nothing.)
Ah cool!
I was just wondering how the calculations were drawn.. Like I said, I felt like I messed the test up...
thanks for the response!
