Powerbeam Pro and FTP test

I have a Powerbeam Pro, and am trying to figure out which number to use for my FTP test.  From the test listed on EN, it states to use Normalized power, which I found in Power agent, but there is also a FTP number in power agent.  The FTP number on mine for example was 250, while the normalized power read at 230.  Thanks for any help!

If you did the EN 2 x 20' (2') test, select the business 42' region of the power file (where you did 20' hard then 2' recovery then 20' hard) and get the NP of that 42' selection. The NP of that 42' is your FTP.

  • Bryan - I use the Powerbeam Pro and Power Agent also, but a different protocol for testing. Whether you do 1 x 20 min or 2 x 20 mins you should hit Interval on the Joule when you start the test and again when you stop it. In Power Agent right under the date near the top left (but under the menu) there is a summary tab and a detail tab. I select the detail tab then go to the lower right of the screen and select the interval I hit for my test. Since I'm following the spinervals protocol and have no break, I use Average Power. Then I go to the Spinervals website, type in the average power on their calculator and it tells me my FTP and my zones.
