ITEMS IN SN BAGS

  •  Bike tubes
  • CO
  • Extra Feed Bottles...Frozen in am so they will be thawed by the time we reach them
  • small packets of sunblock? (yes or no)
  • Tylenol

RUN SN BAG

  • extra socks?
  • change of shoes?
  • Tylenol?
  • Red Bull-gives you wings

My thought is if you dont have to stop or dont need anything then I would maybe want some of my stuff back.  Not that tubes and CO are that expensive but it adds up.

Comments

  • Yes on the extra socks! It felt so good to change my socks at run SN at IMCDA last year.

    I also add a little chamois cream (bike) and body glide (run) just in case I am needing it.
  • I change socks at T2, not run SN. But now that I have learned how to pee on the run, I might need the change.

    I don't do extra shoes.

    I keep a long sleeve shirt in run SN. I finish after dark, need the warmth.

    Extra sunscreen, but spray version is not as messy and easier to apply.

    Yes on chamois cream and body glide.
  •  Bike SN:

    Tube and CO2 only incase I flat during the first half.  Always have a spare.

    Extra nutrition bottle for 2nd half.

    Treat = candy.

    Lube.

    Run SN:

    Long Sleeve T.

    Lube

    Treat = candy.

    Water bottle.

    Note: I have always gotten my stuff back.  In my first IM I actually took off my Fuel Belt at mile 13 SN bag and dumped it in the SN Bag.  I wanted that shit off my hips, never had a problem in training.  I took a chance and even got that back the next day at IMFL.  But my advice is don't risk it with something your not prepared to loose.

  • Duct tape in run special needs, to slap on a developing blister if needed.

    I carry 2 x tubes/Co2 on my bike + 1 set in BSN bag. But if I need all 3 I'm having a VERY bad day.
