How would you race this?
Ok, so I'm in Week 2 of IM Louisville training. Tomorrow I'm racing New Orleans 70.3. We just learned the swim is offically cancelled and its going to be a Run 2 - Ride 54 - Run 13.1 race.
I was planning to race the EN template, however the new 2 mile run to start the race adds a wrinkle. I was planning to put out a lighter effort on the swim and ease into the bike. With the 2 mile run to start I'm curious if there's value to tearing it up and then letting my HR settle in on the bike, or if its better to take it easy and just let it be a warm up.
Curious to hear your thoughts.

Let's see, if it were me, and I went "hard" vs "cruise", there would probably be a 2-3 minute difference in total time (6:40 miles vs 7:30-8). Going hard would burn up some matches which I would need - were the course hilly. But I assume it's not. I think there's little to lose if you try a pace bertween 5K and 10K - that would be the standard approach for a duathlon that was, say, 5K-40K-8/10K.
