Keeping the watts down while climbing
I'm wondering how the rest of you handle hills, even slight grades while keeping your watts within the recommended zones.
I did my big training day yesterday, trying to hold IF=0.7 on the ride, which is right about 137W for me. On every hill, my watts shoot up to 180+ even when I get to my easiest gear (compact crank and 25 tooth cog) and really focus on going slow.
Is this something others deal with at the sub 200 FTP?
Any tricks?
