Adding a C race during training on the HIM schedule
I have decided to do the Mt Rainier Duathlon on May 6th. I don't want to disrupt by training for my A race but not sure how to proceed. Should I keep on my program as it is for should I make some changes in the schedule?
I usually do my long runs on Friday mornings. Since I am racing on Sunday I thought I could move my long run to Thursday. Does this change make sense?
Sun- 3 hr ride
Mon 30 min run, 2 hr ride
Tues 60 swim, 60 min run
Wed 60 bike, 30 run
Thur 60 swim, 120 run
Fri 45 run
Sat- 60 min swim
Sun- race 5.12 mile run, 28.888 bike, 3.79
Mon- 3 hr ride

I would drop the Friday run - no need to have truly tired/trashed legs after this week. The past years I've done this, I've gotten good confidence boost on my biking and ability to run after leading into the season. Of course, don't burn al your matches on the way up to Mud Mtn dam, and be careful in the descent - the road (410) is not closed to traffic.
