NYC - Tri State Area Spring Social

Let's organize something and find a good date in midtown...

who is interested?

what nights are better? Thursday, Friday, or Saturday?

what part of NYC, bar suggestions do people have?

Comments

  • Thursdays are generally more workable for me.
  •  Friday or Saturday work for me, but I can make Thursdays do-able....

  • i vote for a thursday evening as well
  • I can make it in around 7PM on a Thursday
  • A Thursday night works for me! Sounds good - Also - what's the latest on the Chris G social get together....?
  • @ JT - I think Tucker is the Race Captain for the Amer Zof - Tucker????
@ all, here are some Thursday Nights that work for me...

May 24 (right before Mem Day weekend!)
that is it for me, else I am deep into June...

what do people think of this date? Long enough out to plan, lots of people work half or not at all on Friday before memorial day...

    any suggestions on a location?
  • May 24th works for me. I also recommend midtown--usually works for the greatest number, including train travelers.
  • I can make the 24th work - as long as it's "after work" 6PM ->
  • I could make a Thursday evening work, but the 24th I'll be at the BRParkway Camp.....
  • It will be nice to meet some EN folks.

Thursday's work, and the 24th is fine.
  • does anyone want to suggest someplace in "midtown"? thinking a 6:30 start time
  • East or West?
  • I'm petty sure I can make it on the 24th!
  • let's pick a place that won't be overrun with tourists... more of a "neighborhood" bar type of place, easy eats and beer!
  • Some options:

    Chelsea/Flatiron Area
Frying Pan: West 26th and West Side Highway
    Half-King: 505 West 23rd (and 10th Avenue)
    SlateNY: 54 West 21st (and 6th)

    Columbus Circle
Hudson Bar: 356 West 58th Street (in Hudson Hotel)
Whiskey Park: Central Park South and 6th Avenue
*The one advantage of going to either of these two is you can go and browse at SBR and see really overpriced tri stuff. image

I stayed away from Times Square area and I spend more time on the West side, hence the choices. image
  • Sorry, I'm out of town that week but thanks for inviting me.
  • What about the Gingerman? Something like 100 beers on tap. though that can get crowded. Did find a nice spot Stags Head on 51st which has an upstairs outdoor area for eating/drinking. Good beers as well.
  • I'm out of town on the 24th for a long weekend. Enjoy everyone.
  • I would have loved to meet EN folks from the area, but unfortunately "family duties" have me book.. maybe next time!

  • can we all agree on a place and make this happen?? Tucker name the place & address for all, i will send them out on the email blasts i did last week!
  • making an executive decision and going with Tucker's suggestion, seems to be most convenient to everyone taking trains from midtown.
    Gingerman, 11 East 36th St, NYC, between 5th & 6th
    Thursday 5/24 @ 6:30 pm til....

plan to separate the wheat from the Chaff, the men from the boys, the awkwardly feminine from possibly Canadian...
  • OK - I'm in. Will probably get to the Gingerman around 7pm - look forward to seeing folks this Thursday
  • Is Thursday still on? Is there a time and place?
