Infinite during run of HIM
In the past I always have GI issues so I am going for liquid only this year. For thos that are using Infinite on the run are you wearing a fuel belt or how are you executing that run. I do not like to run with those belts and am thinking of maybe a concentrated small handheld bottle (which I have never tried) and taking swigs of that along with water at stations.

I use Infinit on both the bike and run. Different formula for each. Bike formula has slightly more carbs + 4 g of protein. Run formula has no protein but adds in caffeine. For both HIM and IM races, i concentrate the formulas. One 3 hour bottle on the bike (6 scoops) + H2O off the course (and get a fresh bottle of Infinit @ BSN if an IM). On the run I use a Nathan fuel belt with two 12 oz. bottles. Each bottle is concentrated (2 scoops) and good for 1 hour. If it is an IM I'll get two fresh bottles @ RSN. On the run when I come to each aid station, I drink 2 cups of water while walking 30 steps. Then grab a cup of ice to carry with me and start running again. Then I put some ice my mouth, squirt in some Infinit, the ice cools the Infinit, I chew the ice and make my own Infinit slushy, swallow. Repeat @ each aid station. Since I'm a heavy, salty sweater, I also carry 4 S-cap salt pills with me on the run in the Nathan belt and take one each hour. So I use nothing off the course except water and ice as I want to control (ie., not be tempted by the aid station buffett) and have practiced with everything going in my stomach. I use only Infinit that I have trained with on my long rides and runs. So far (as i cross my fingers and knock on wood), I have had no bonking or stomach problems in races. However, I will do some training rides and runs with whatever sports drink the race has for the course just so that if I lose or drop/break a bottle of Infinit, I am at least familar with the on-course drink and flavor. For a sprint race, I don't bother with Infinit & just put one bottle of water on my bike. For an Olympic, I do 1 bottle of my run formula Infinit (normal strength, not concentrated) & 1 bottle of water on the bike. Probably don't need the Infinit on the oly but drinking it gives me confidence to go hard on the run knowing I'm not going to run out of gas. Hope this helps.
