  • Hope all of you racing IM Texas have a GREAT day, be smart, race your race, and go kick some Ironman butt!! We'll be watching you....
  • Good luck everyone!! Kick that course EN Ninja style!!
  • Best of luck to IMTX peeps!

    Nemo will be watching!!!
  • Execute like ninjas!
  •  Good Luck Team TX! May the air be cool and still, the water warm, transitions smooth, and splits FAST! Tear. It. UP!

  • Penny reports at 0810 local time on GroupMe that she saw CoachP going into the changing tent. No splits yet on the IMLive athlete tracker
  • Looks like swim times are a little slower this year for some reason. P was around 1:08.

It's already 80 degrees at 9:30 so it's going to be a tough day out there. I'm heading up in a couple of hours to watch the run. I'll provide updates on my iPad as I can.
  • I called Patrick last night to talk about the race. He said that after watching Tom's race last year (KQ), the key is to be ready to really get it done on the last lap as others wilt in the heat.

  • I'd agree with that. I saw so much walking the last lap (and for some it may have been their first or second lap) that it was crazy. It looked like a scene from the Walking Dead.
  • I was looking at pro and age group swim times on athlete tracker and thought they seemed a little slow. Does anyone know what the water temperature was? Going 2.4 miles in warm water can really sap you! Were they able to have a wetsuit wave 10 mins after the main start?
  • Any updates? I can't get the tracker to work on my phone.
    Thx
  •  Coach p.   less than 5 hours on the bike!!!!

  •  Tom glynn.   505 bike!

  • The only EN'ers I've seen are Patrick and Tom.
  • Saw Coach P finish in 9:27 and Tom Glynn in 10:37.
  • Coach P was just too awesome! First in M35-59 ... by 13 seconds. It makes me want to go bike 112 miles right now and sign up for IM Texas when I get back. Woo hoo, that was an awesome race in hot conditions!!
  • Wow coach.

Tom close to a kona spot.

  • Been out for a big tri day and other family stuff congrats to all the IMTX people and excellent job Coach P.

    Gordon

  • Congratulations Coach P on an amazing race! And, congratulations to all of our EN teammates who finished the race! I imagine that heat was really tough.
  • bit of a dumb set of questions here ...

    -did Tom qualify for Kona?

    -Did Patrick claim his slot?

-Any others? I thought I saw a posting about three possible KQs.

Started to go through the forums, but couldn't get the final answers.

  • Yes, Patrick took the slot and I don't believe anyone else go lucky with the roll down.

  • @Dave, I had a great race but not quite good enough! Ended up 23 minutes faster than last year on same course, 5th place again. Less slots this year so last year I grabbed the last Kona slot, this year only three and no roll downs. Missed 4th by 30 seconds, but 1-3 by a lot. Some fast 50 year olds!

Last year there was a big gap between 3rd and 5th, same again this year. May have to do sub 10 to qualify next year. Yikes!
  • Outstanding result, Tom - congratulations on your achievement. It sounds like it was a perfect day. I'm looking forward to reading the race report!

  •  Great work tom.
