joule seems to record workout but nothing in file

a few weeks ago i did a great ride. when i went to DL the workout a few days later the file showed 0kb... so not sure why that happened.

now i did the Gleason/Amer Zof race yesterday. keep in mind that you do two bike loops that are seperated by an hour run.

when i got on the bike for the 2nd lap, the joule appeared to actually pick up where it left off, i would have expected it to start a new workout. when i went to download the workouts today. the download window shows two seperate workouts of 191 & 217 KB

when i download the files, only one contains a workout and the other comes up as "no workouts found" when i try to download it.

 

so two issues: the first is why do some come up as zero KB? why is this one workout not downloading at all?

    Do you have the yellow computer that comes with the power meter? If so that started to happen to me this year as well. I call the company and they told me to take the battery out, put it in backwards and leave it in there for 10sec and then put it back in the right way. It worked, but I was so nervous that I thought I had to do that everytime before I road, so I switch my computer to a garmin 500.

    interesting... maybe i ought to put a fresh battery in while i am at it!

    You have probably already checked this, but unlike the Garmin, when your Joule is full it stops recording. You can see what you are doing on the ride, but that's it.

    @Brenda: not the same device you are thinking of, joule has a proprietary battery, like a cordless phone type...
    @al, i have been clearing it out.

    the problem is that it is saving the files for the workouts, some are not saving any data as the file gets a name and 0KB, one did get a name, a size, but when you try to DL it, nothing... i am going to have to call cycleops, i fear...

    note to all: called Cycleops, they were great, really fantastic customer service. Using windows, the rep had me reformat the memory of the joule. All seems to be working good now.
