I think if you have the time to do that twice a week awesome. I'm crunched enough with my routine here in EN add a few planks and I'm done out the door to work.
Seems like a reasonable philosophy, not that different from the ideas preached by Mark Verstegen or Gray Cooke. Many exercises, like the front squat, have a tendency to reinforce bad patterns as the focus becomes more on lifting more weight, rather than on doing the movement perfectly. I'd suggest also looking at the Runner Core DVD, having worked with those guys myself.
