ProBar - too much fat??

Comments

  •  I wonder too.

    Fat not useful during events?

honey stinger waffles with lots of fat (used at tremblant) too.

  • Not a "professional" but will give my opinion. I love the probar (almost 400 calories of vegan goodness) eat a couple a week using them as a quick breakfast in the car immediately after an AM swim so I can run a couple hours later. Its all good fat and not concerned with that but I certainly would not use them racing! Interestingly I tried them after reading an ultra report where the guy used them as fuel which makes sense for less intensity but not HIM or IM. The one bar I like to use racing is the Toffee Peanut Buzz Clif Bar broken up into quarters gives you little 60 calorie bites and a little caffeine as well.
  • I agree with Tim. Sounds like eating a 370 calorie brick on the bike. Better to break up and spread out I would think....

Also, I have a weird diet and try to limit both good (weird to say, but I suppose) and bad fat. My feeling on fat is eat fat, get fat... Just how my body has worked.
  • I recommend the ProBars to clients who have high calorie needs to use as snacks during the day or at bed time. I can't imagine using them in a HIM or IM. They would probably work in ultras because their intensity is a lot lower.
