EN will match your donations, dollar for dollar, to reach the $850 mark...the deadline is 7/1/2012.

Here's how it works:

3. Mail it in (or drop it off on rally weekend!).

As you are aware, Lake Placid is working hard to secure a new 5 year contract with World Triathlon to continue the Ironman event in Lake Placid.

 

One of the items needed to reach that goal is a commemorative plaque at the race start. In an effort to facilitate this, Placid Planet has designed and purchased a cast bronze plaque which will be mounted to a rock at the Town Beach. The Village of Lake Placid has donated the time to arrange the rock and mount the plaque. As you can see from the attached photo, it will look quite nice.

 

Placid Planet is willing to pay for the plaque, but we are hoping to get a few other interested people to contribute as well. The plaque was $850.

 

To be clear, this is not tax deductible and there will be little recognition for your contribution, but I believe it will help to secure a new contract with World Triathlon. Donors will be invited to the contract signing ceremony which will be held at the rock the week of Ironman this July.

 

There is absolutely no pressure to contribute to this, but we wanted to throw the idea out to a few people who we know enjoy and appreciate the event along with us.

 

If you do wish to contribute, please let me know. Checks should be made out to Placid Planet. We greatly appreciate your support.

Thanks folks...this makes the official total $200 from members, so another $200 from EN, or $400 towards the plaque. Hope you'll be able to see it on race weekend!!!
