Do I have this right?

In the intermediate program this Saturday I can do a 1:15 indoor bike workout and get in 1:42 of work!

2X 20 (4) = 48 min

5 X 2 (2) = 20 min

2 X 15 (2) = 34 min

The thing is it makes sense to me since I took "Math for Marines!"

  • OOOOps, you've looked behind the curtain and found our dirty little secret!
  • 40+10+30 = 1:20 of work.
  • There is a DMV near us that has a large electric sign that gives the time that you will have to wait to be inspected.  Occasionally it reads -1 or -2 minutes.  If I quickly ride through a few times, I think I can I keep my workouts to the time prescribed!  .

  • Maybe my math is wrong, but isn't the 5x2 (2)  14 minutes?

Nope - it was right in the original note 2 min work, 2 min recovery, 2 min work, 2 min recovery, 2 min work, 2 min recovery, 2 min work, 2 min recovery, 2 min work, 2 min recovery = 20 min total

  • You're adding total time, I was talking WORK time.
  • We are coaches, not math majors. Sorry for the typo...guess our new motto is RTFW? imageimageimage

  • I noticed this too, but at the same time, I think the Wednesday runs are often a little short, so you're probably evening out when it's all said and done
