2012 Eagleman AquaVelo Report

I'm happy to report that I placed first in my age group for the 2012 AquaVelo Mid-Atlantic Championship. Wind wasn't too bad, but starting the last swim wave came just as winds were picking up. The bike was terribly hot and endless, but had my nutrition/hydration pretty well to just grab water at the stations. It's my first at this distance so I was very happy to not be running! In hindsight I think I could have pushed a little harder on the bike, but having never done this distance even in training, I just keep pushing.  I passed a bunch of people the 2nd half, so I think I paced it well for a first time out.

@Sue, way to get it done!!! I think you have to push so much harder on the bike given no run; that's gotta hurt!!!!

@ Patrick, Thanks for your encouragement... I tried to just keep pushing! I had terrible leg cramps by the time I finished-- never so glad to get off the bike and walk around!
