Onsite Sign Up Questions

I am planning on volunteering at LP.

I am envisioning being at the volunteer line at the crack of dawn Monday with a comfy folding chair, a book and a venti!

I thought i saw a post where coach R may have said, this may not be necessary? I could just show up later in the day when they are done with volunteers and get it done?

Or that I don’t even have to volunteer, I can do onsite sign up when they are done with volunteers?

I also would like to split town as soon as possible on Monday, so i am thinking that the volunteer/early AM option may be best so that if i am near the front of the line, i could be on my way at a decent hour....

anyone have experience with this?

  • I have a couple friends who signed up from home as soon as the general reg opened. Last year, I got in line at about 5:30 am, and registered onsite, and was on the road by about 9:30 am. They did open registration earlier than posted, so that was possible.
  • I'd show up late-ish 9 maybe 10, you'll get a spot.
  • Yep. As long as you are in "a" line, volunteer or other, by about 10-10:30 on Monday, you'll be able to register. Zero reason to camp on the sidewalk, etc.
