I don't think so. I had originally gone to the "Training Plan Central" and requested a season plan change, then I think you guys suggested I start off with the Season Planning tool, to get an idea of what I've got going. My training plan still says I should be in week 15 of 20 of the October OS. I'm guessing that's not right, given that I'm just getting started and only have 20+ weeks until my A race at Racine 70.3
I guess I'm still a bit confused about it all... sorry!
I have a couple of questions. When I started the OS my A race was Eagleman in mid-June but then was offered a free spot at Florida 70.3 one month earlier in May. Should I switch my A race to Florida which would mean I transition out of the OS next week or do I keep my original A race as Eagleman and finish out the OS?

Tucker, which race is more important to you or do you want to make both of them A-races?
Good question Rich. Well since in the first race I have a bet with the boss I would say I would like them to both be A races.
Ha! Of course. I say you finish out OS, say you aren't even training for a HIM, crush him regardless and then do even better at the second one. Stay in the OS as long as you can...
Folks, please go back to the Start Station of the Train Map and re-download the Season Planning tool. As of 2/12 it includes volume spreadsheet tabs for HIMs and IMs...the math is a little fuzzy, but it's close enough for the time being!
Thanks Patrick! I will stay in the OS. Stuck inside anyway so should be just as good. I will just start to sprinkle some swimming in as I really need to get back in the pool. Thanks. Tucker
For the record, the volumes given for the weekly long rides and runs are correct, but the math on the total weekly volumes is suspect. No worries, we should have it fixed by the time you really need it but this should allow you to plan ahead, etc.
on the new layout with the fuzzy math which says how much volume, you have week 1 as a test week. i remember that coach P responded to me in another thread saying that week 1 isn't a test week since it's assumed were coming out of a test in the OS. i'm assuming there is no test week 1. is that correct?
I read this back one page.... Big day is scheduled saturday, but as with all things EN you can do it on Fri, Sat, or Sun and we can help you manage that via the forums. It is one big day of work with one day off afterwards...
How do I change my plan from OS to 2 weeks transition, then 4 weeks of general prep, then, 12 weeks IM? I have been playing around with the new tool and can't figure it out.
The link was very helpful. My first week of transition will be a vacation in Antigua and I had planned to do a run focus and some swimming on the beach as the Shamrock 1/2 marathon will be Mar 21 and I read one of the wiki pages or somewhere that some people do a run focus in transition. I will probably follow the EN Transition Plan for the second week. Does that sound ok?

Keith, let's have you get the plan, see what it says, what the rest of your schedule looks like, and we can answer that question when the time comes.
The short answer is, yes, Week 1 of the HIM and IM plans have a testing week. Yes, the majority of people dropping into that plan will be coming straight from the OS so no need to test. However, as the season ages and everyone gets more spread out between OS exit this, I'm racing this HIM or IM that, etc, we need to make the default Week 1 a testing week, then handle exceptions to that default as people ask questions about their own situation.
Deal?
Also, I just want to remind everyone (not you Keith) that the place to ask Big Picture, what do I do now, what about my season questions is in the Macro Thread, not this one. You guys are doing a great job of hiding important questions and stuff where we can't see it very easily
Question, I am planning out the rest of the season, should I take time off after the OS and time off after the Basic Month. My OS ends March 21, I do not need to start the 12 week race prep to May 30th according to the tool. Or should I just take 2 weeks off after the OS and then go right from the Basic month to the 12 week.

RnP,
What does "Big Day" mean on the IM page of the planning tool? As opposed to the Race Rehearsal/Sim?
Thanks,
George

RnP or anybody that knows,

George -
We don't have an official transition plan in place yet; you can download the guidance for it here: https://www.box.net/shared/dc0bvmom7u
We will have the General Prep stuff up by the time you need it. Sorry for the confusion!
Patrick
