  • Coach, I recommend Deep Eddy Pool for swimming, very close to Barton Springs and on the running trails as well.  It is open:  en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_Eddy_Pool

Options for Friday night meeting places are:

Arboretum area: Cheesecake Factory, Eddie V's, Tru Luck's, (Mexican) Iron Cactus, North X Northwest, Z Tejas Mexican, TGI Friday's,

Barton Springs Road: Chuy's (TexMEX,) Many other bars, restaurants, etc.

Coach, pick one and let us know the time and we'll be there.

  • I'm going to try and come on up, let me know where and when - please don't come to Austin and eat at TGIF or Cheesecake.

    Donna

  • @donna - I was going to say the exact same thing. There are SO many better and unique (as only Ausitn can) places in town.
  • if there are better places, TELL ME. I barely go west of the mississippi and when I do, i train so much i'll eat bark or leaves. Please help with ideas. Thanks for the poool SS, but Deep Eddy doesn't open until 11 during week or 8 on weekends...both too late for my blood...I am searching!

Oh did anyone mention its like 80 here today?

  • Shaughn -- if you want to meet up on Thursday night (I do land at 8:30!) please let me know. I can do it, beers on me.

Friday, let's call it between 5-7 at malagatapasbar.com. I love tapas, and it will be close to where I am riding from. Only caveat is that I might be late if the ride takes me too long!! (should be done by 4, but who knows). Looking forward to it!!
  • Randomly - I'll be in town! (For the Interactive portion of South by Southwest). Just grabbed plane tickets yesterday. My company's paying for them, too, which is great, except that I'm basically just going to train in the warm weather. image

I wont be in town until late Friday night, so it looks like I'll miss tapas. Any other meetups happening? I'm planning on doing my regular workouts (Sat bike/run, Sun bike, Mon swim/run), so maybe some people are willing to meetup for bikes or swims?

I'm renting a tri bike from Bicycle Sport Shop, which I had no idea anyone even did. Better get all my measurements squared away and bring my saddle because there's no way I'd want to do 7.5 hours over the weekend in a wonky position...
  • Patrick, we are going to try and make dinner Friday - weather should be great - 45's in the morning, 80's in the afternoon, blue blue skies. You won't want to leave.
