Where do you go to add friends, and why?

 I know you do it in "My Profile" under the Friends tab.  But I haven't quite figured out why you do it yet.

Becuase, eventually, we'll have a section of your dashboard that will display updates from your friends (instead of groups or forums). Easier way to keep tabs on the key folks that matter to you in da hause. But it's a ways off...no rush.
