To half Marathon or not?!

A few friends and family members have signed up for the Cowtown Half Marathon on Feb 27 and I am contemplating doing it with them.

I have yet to do a Half Marathon and think it would be kinda nice to do one before my Buffalo Springs "A" race june 27.

I am in the november off season and also have  a sprint distance race on March 14th.  Looking for  some feedback from some of you  vets(or other newbies) about whether or not you think its a good idea or if it would negativly affect my OS too much and just go be a supporter at the race. Thanks Guys

  • I had a TNT friend of mine send me a text message earlier this week offering free entry into any of their races. I asked around and was told by many people, that it was a 'tough' course due to the flat nature of Ft Worth made it windy and dusty, and therefore not easy even though it's probably mostly flat.

I passed due to that description alone. I'm not speaking due to personal experience though, so nothing to share.

DFW has all sorts of half marathons that are better weather and terrain, if the descriptions are accurate.
  • do the half, do it. running a half after week 14 in OS is totally feasible...
  • I guess im doing the half! Should hurt so good! Thx
Thx for the warning scott. I would pick another but since my aunt and Uncle will be at this one i figure ill try to sign up for it with them.
  • I'm planning on doing Rock n Roll New Orleans Half Marathon that same weekend, so we should be hurting the same on Monday.
