Speed/Cadence Sensor

I am in the market for a new ant+ speed/cadence sensor and was wondering which ones have worked well for folks.  I have had a Garmin GSC 10 for a little over a year and have issues where the speed portion drops out occationally - and as of this past week, won't work at all.  The cadence always works well - just having issues with the speed sensor.

I've read reviews online and this appears to be a fairly common complaint for this unit (GSC 10).  I have changed batteries, played with the position of the 'arm', position of the sensor, position of the magnet on the wheel spoke - all of the things that various interweb sites and humans have suggested.

So... I want something else.  What works well and is reliable?

  • I'm a quarq guy. And I use the CycleOps Spd/Cad Wireless Ant+ Sensor. But, I'm pretty sure that my cadence display on my Joule comes from the quarq and the speed info comes from the CycleOps Sensor on the chainstay. Works well, tho the speed sensor is supposed to be reading 30+ all the time and it usually only does that on the descents.
