Louisville half ironman race moved.....what to do
I was signed up to do the Cardinal (Louisville) half ironman tomorrow. This was going to be on most of the IM LOU bike course and was going to use it in prep for IM LOU. Yesterday got an email from the race director saying they moved the race for safety reason to Taylorsville lake, which is 30 some miles south east of Louisville and not on the IM course.
Thinking about scrachting the race and just going down for a long training weekend on the course. Maybe do another RR on the actual bike course on Saturday. Followed by a long run on Sunday. I think Team EN is down there doing a camp anyway this weekend.
Opinions?

Why did they change it? What safety issue? Must be something to do with the river?
I think whichever you do will be fine....you should do what makes you the most confident for next month...! See you there.
I guess they had to change it because they did not have local police support to man 3 intersections. Apparently it has nothing to do with the river.
Think I'm going to do a RR on the bike course and long run on Sunday instead of doing the race.
See you next month.
