Help---Which tubes do I carry??

I just can't solve this in my head, which is stupid, but input please!!!  I'm running and 808 front, plus a standard wheel & cover for IMLP tomorrow.  I know I have to carry a tube with a 48 mm stem for the wheelcover wheel and I have 2 of those.  However, I can't decide what to carry for the 808.  I have the removeable core extender in the 808 now, but I have a longer and shorter Zipp extender which doesn't need the core removed (you just tape the threads where it screws in).  I'm going to carry both the short and long valve extender.  I also have 3- 88mm tubes.

What would you carry?  What would you put in special needs?  Should I just buy 1-2 more 48 mm tubes and only have to deal with one size and the longer Zipp valve extender?

Thanks, because I can't think/decide!!

  • Wow talk about last minute ..... At this point I'd take everyting .... everything... put it in your special needs bag ...everthing .... carry everthing, no time left to start thinking or rethinking this , now go relax go put your feet up and have a great race because everthing is taken care of.
  •  Keith ... On the-course, you want to change the tube with as little hassle and time as possible. So Id carry the long valve tube with me, and put a short and long tube in special needs with the extenders

    Good luck!

  • This is probably too late to help Keith, but it does bring up a good question. Do you get your special needs stuff back? My recollection is that special needs bags aren't returned at races I have done, so anything that goes in it is lost unless you stop and pick it up during the ride.
  • I ended up carrying 2 of the 48 mm and stuff one 80 mm under my Adamo seat. I kept both valve extenders with me.
