Trouble keeping swim pace in week 17
Hey,
To any swim pace gurus...
I've been having trouble keeping up with my T-pace in my swims over the past 2 weeks. My T-pace is 1:30, and on longer sets (400s and 500s), it's been a struggle to maintain 1:32. I'm in week 17 of HIM training, and I can't tell if this is just cumulative fatigue that's slowing me down, or if my technique is mysteriously wasting away as I get closer to race day. Any thoughts on this? Is this a normal phenomenon a few weeks out?
Thanks for any thoughts!

Fatigue.
Or. Maybe have someone look at your technique. Just before last race wife told me that i lost the back end of my stroke. Lost it on swimming the mindless meters. Now it is back and i am speedier.
IMHO- I wouldn't even worry about it...week 17 it is most likely macro fatigue related...and your only talking about 2 seconds/100...I loose 2 seconds just finding my watch : )
Seriously....As long as generally your not experience fatigue related issues across all disciplines...then you might need a little slowdown...generally.
+1 on this being the time when you are supposed to feel the most tired. It will pass, as long as you follow the taper protocol.
Thanks!!!!!
X2 on Joe 2/100 of a sec. I'm off by 10 sec and I'm just plain tired.
