About how many hours are people getting out of their powertap battery?

Thanks!!!

  •  Six to nine months of EN type use...maybe 200-250 hours?

  • X2 Al , also don't leave it in the cradle or sitting on your bike if your not using it.
  • I change mine every 12 months but I do all my intervals on my Computrainer, so my PT is hardly used in the OS.
  • I am similar to Peter in that I change the batteries every spring, just so I have one less thing to worry about for the remainder of the year.
  • I guess I'm the outlier so far... I end up changing mine like 3x a yr. I've had my PT in the beginning of a 145 mile ride before and I don't want that happening again. So no matter what, I change them out before my Ironman. I also change them in the spring and usually one other time. Batteries are cheap, waste them...
  • we too change often.   every race.  etc.    easy to do.   cheap.

  •  CycleOps claims that batteries are supposed to last around 400 hours of riding time for a PT hub, but of course there's a bit of variance in that depending on the batteries you use and how long you keep the bike sitting around. Should be pretty easy to figure out when is a reasonable time to change batteries if you've been keeping a training log of your hours.

  • My Policy: Change on Memorial Day Weekend and/or 3 weeks out from my A race each year.
  • Do you have to reset it or anything after you put in a new battery?

Nope, just make sure the Hub is still paired (shows watts when you pedal) - it shouldn't unpair though.
