Are The IM Plans Ready Yet?

95 days until IM St. George!  Or more importantly for me . . . . 81 days until taper.

The season plan spreadsheet that went "live" this past weekend shows this as the last week of OS for me, then one week transition and then start the 12 week IM Plan.  Before I ping the coaches, I wanted to see if anyone has 411 about the 2010 IM Plans?  Are they done and ready for prime time?  Etc.  Will my Plan page switch over to the IM Plan since I have my A race in the system already?  Or do I have to make a Plan Change Request?

Sorry for being a dork but haven't kept up on much outside of OS.  I have tried to search for info but have been unsussessful.

Any help from da Haus is appreciated.

Hope everyone is doing well!

John

  • Hi John,
I was told by the coaches to request a plan change for St George right before the plan starts via the training plan page.
I was planning on during that on Monday next week.
    Hope that helps.

  • Good to know. Thanks Wei. I was assuming that would change via some other automagical process. I'm definitely not clear on what's supposed to happen and when, either. Like with the end of OS, do we just stop? Do we cap it off with something? Would have liked to get to Coach office hours/chat last night but had late meetings at work and didn't get home until after they were over. (The joys of working with people in Asia-Pac!) Hopefully tomorrow I can make it....

John, you're so good for asking this in a general thread....I'm horrible, I just go straight to the macro level thread and spill my guts and beg for guidance.

I'm assuming too that we'll get some info via our IMSG group at some point...only because of the call out on the Dashboard that's pushing folks to be sure to "sign in" to the group.

  • For those of who have an early season race, that is not an IM, how do we know which plan we should request? I am racing the Am Zofingen (May 16). I am not sure if I will be using an HIM or IM plan. I will probably join the IMSG Group, since many of you are my OS peeps, just to help keep the foo going strong.

  • Thanks, Wei Lu.  Unless I hear otherwise, that is what I will do.

@Peter - Have you asked this question in the MACRO forum?

@Olivia - Have you watched the Plan intro video here in the Downloads section?  It is simply a link in the text .  http://www.endurancenation.us/members/train/start.php  It should answer your questions?

And yes, I post general stuff/questions here first cuz of all the knowledge in da Haus instead of posting directly to the coaches.  Wei Lu answered and I saved (I hope) the coaches some cycles.  More specific stuff like Peters question I would go to the coaches.

    Happy Tuesday!

  • Not a problem John!
It was what the coaches told me to do so I hope it is the same for everyone else.
And I hear you on saving the coaches some work; when I was working out my schedule for OS, St George and all that good stuff I was essentially spamming the admin email account (not recommended), and I felt really bad about it so I am going to do anything I can to help out.

Olivia, do what John said about watching the video; you will have a better idea to when you might want to take your transition week.

Can't wait to meet you guys.

  • Actually....

We would prefer you use the Macro thread, particularly when your question involves us building admin stuff on our end. This way, we see it, we answer it, and everyone gets the scoop straight from us, not "I heard, read this, my understand is that."

In the next day or so PnI will communicate directly to the IMSG peeps exactly what is going to happen and when. That communication will happen in the IMSG group to people racing IMSG. Thanks.

  • Yep. I'm good with having done my homework...Did it the minute I got my sticky hands on it last week!!! Here's what I got:

-John Stark is marking race week with a RED cell! image
-My husband, who also heard the video, is now asking me regularly if I'm "being a good doobie." HA HA!!
-A good mapping of my weeks which matches up to my own personal rudimentary one that I made last year, and that shows me exiting OS after this week until/unless I hear otherwise...based the answer to the question (which falls into the "I see this but heard that" category) that I posted in the "Macro" feedback thread.

So I'll keep hammering my OS workouts while watching the IMSG group for updates!!

    I stand corrected, again.

O, funny thing with your hubby.    I am going to tag you "Doobie Girl."  Has a double entendre.      And I don't understand, will you be exiting OS after this week?  Your last line confused me.

  • Sounds like I accurately expressed my confusion in my last line. That's where my question is. Awaiting some input in the macro thread.... Hopefully then I'll be clear in my thinking and can confirm exit date.
  • I actually posted a simlar question in the micro thread... this will be my last week of OS followed by a transition week and then the IM plan.  Given this is the last week of OS (but week 17 versus 20), do I just do the week 17 workouts or is there ... dare I say it ... testing involved.  Which given I have come down with a slight cold, I wouldn't do the testing anyway, so it doesn't matter I guess.

  • Mark,

I have the full beginner plan at home and its been awhile since I looked at it but I believe the last week has testing, FTT and vdot so that you have accurate numbers heading in to the IM plan.  I'm heading out skiing tonight so I can't commit to looking this up  when I get home as I have a lot going.   Hopefully someone else will chime in.
