Is there a podiatrist in the haus??
I took things easy from a training standpoint this summer as I had no races scheduled. Over the 4th of July I was playing with my kids at a North Carolina 'sliding rock' (essentially a natural waterslide made of rock). At one point I jumped in the water to pick up my son and my heel struck the top of an underwater rock, bruising it. 2 months later, it's still bruised. The sensitivity varies and doesn't seem to impact my half marathon training I am in the midst of. That said, in this week's 5K VDOT test, I did feel my form compensating. I am not a heel striker, so my thought is that during this all out test my fatigue impacted my stride which then exposed my bruise discomfort.
So my question - It seems strange that it's still sore 2 months later...should I see someone about it?
