Go Team Pumpkin!

October OS peeps!!

We who are racing IMSG in some mere 90-something days ()  are on our way out of OS as of this weekend. Yep, this is it! We're heading into our transition week this week and will start race prep on 2/8.

THANK YOU to all of you for the motivation, the support, the sounding board, etc...that you provided since October. I laughed, I cried, blah, blah, blah! No, really! It was great to have you all out there keeping me honest with the work this OS.

Finish the 20 weeks with strength and determination, everyone!  I can't wait to get news of your kick butt performances at the races!

Go team go!!

  • It's going to be quiet in here without all you IMSG peeps!  I want all of you to rest stoopid hard this week like Coach P said so you will be ready to go crazy on your IM training!

I'm going to finish out this OS strong, and am looking forward to my own relaxing transition week.  These final weeks of workouts have gotten tough and long!

Who all is finishing out the OS with me?

IMSG peeps, I'll be lurking around in the SG group, keeping tabs on you.  Thanks to everyone in the October OS for all the inspiration and motivation!

  • @Olivia: We will definitely miss our Team Captain! Rest well and get ready to crush IMSG. Enjoy the pre-race rendezvous in Feb. Sounds like a great time.

@Kristen: I will be finishing out the OS as well. The VO2max stuff really crushed me, but I think I am finally bouncing back. Here is to a strong finish for the OS and another chance to raise the bar that much higher.

I will be here to the bitter end. Little worried about jumping into HIM plan for Cali70.3 with 5 weeks to go. Especially with all of the talk of need for rest coming out of OS.

    We'll see.

  • Wow, I feel so much like Olivia.  I have grown very fond of a lot of poeple I've never met face to face.  You're examples and encouragement have kept me much more motivated than if I had been training alone.  It can be such a lonely journey as a triathlete and we have a horrid reputation in cycling as "solo riders" so this has been new to me having this kind or support.  I too will likely be spending more time in the IMSG group as we are switching to the IS.  I've honestly never worked so hard like RnP have directed during the OS, it's been enlightening and I'm hoping it will pay dividends in the long distance racing.  At this point it's still a faith thing for me as I haven't seen the race results from a season of EN training but the first harvest time is near.

Kristen, you've been fantastic!  I'll miss not rubbing shoulders with you weekly.  I wish you the best with your upcoming A race.  You sound like an amazing person.  Good luck to all of you in your triathlon endeavors this year!

  • good luck to those moving on, but feel free to continue checking in here and playing all year long....some folks do that as it's easier to find friends here...
  • I had coach approval to hang out here and hammer out one more out season week. My plan was to take my transition next week (if you can call a trip to the magic kingdom with five kids transition). Last Saturday I went on a longer bike ride and it started to rain. I had a great ride but I never warmed up afterwards, cold feet and hands Sunday-Thursday, I knew something was up. I was getting the workouts done but not a lot of energy. Friday woke up with a soar throat. In bed Saturday-Sunday. At work yesterday and today, but still have not been on the bike or worked out since Friday. Back to the basics for me, eating plenty of good food every three hours, eight plus hours of sleep. I am actually feeling better. My soar throat is gone, but a have a bad cough with plenty of yucky stuff hacking up. I might take a light spin on the bike tonight. Maybe I will end up with two weeks of transition... I hope everyone else has a good transition or out season week.
  • It has been fun gang.  I enjoyed our small little group....  I'll keep coming back to the Oct OS group just to see what's up.  Thanks everyone for your encouragement and stories....it really does help!
