How do you calibrate a Garmin 305 footpad?

I did a search, but I didn't find any directions for how you calibrate a 305 footpad. I just got one, and I seriously doubt that I ran 6 miles in 35 minutes yesterday on the treadmill. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
