Sunday runs

Okay gang, lets put our organizing thoughts down here for our weekly run dates.  Looks like Nicole is out for this week, but could arrange for next week.

This week is Brent/Nat and Brenda at Nat/Brenda's place for a 10:15-10:30am start.

  • great run with Nat and Bent today. Had some logistical issues (had to run on the road for a bit). Might have to opt out of that location until we have clear sidewalks.

Next Sunday we can go to Nicoles place or we can meet at our place. Both Steve and I like the later start as that allows us to get grocery shopping in before we head. We also like to go get something to eat with Brent and Nat, but they have pick their daughter up by 2pm, so I think the latest we could go is 11am.

    What say you all?
  • I believe 11 am works.  As long as Chloes dance is over at 2, that should still leave time for a quick bite to eat afterwards.

we definitely dont mind travelling to go for a run.  new scenery is always a bonus.

i'll have to do proper recon of the route for the next time that we host the run festivities

  • Agreed - we will scope out our route for next time image It just occurred to me Brenda that I was a terrible hostess and didn't offer you any post-workout snacks or drinks??!!! I am so sorry for that image Boo me.

As for next Sunday...or even Sunday runs in general - I have no problem with traveling either...always happy to learn a new route and up for a change of scenery. However, our start time availability may vary from week to week. Chloe's dance schedule will vary - and we won't know what it is until usually about mid week. Whenever possible, 10am-11am gets my vote. And of course...post run grub is a MUST!!! image
  • Hey guys!

Sorry I've been MIA, life is never dull, what can I say. I hope everyone's having a great week.

Sunday morning sounds great, and I'm with Nat in that 10-11 is my ideal time. If 11am works for everyone this week though, I can make that work. My neighbourhood isn't terribly exciting in terms of routes, but you're all welcome to come to my place. Alternatively, we could pick the place that has been the favourite of the month.

Let me know, and I'll be there! Thanks for your patience

    Nicole.

  • Hi gang,

Just got Chloe's dance sched for Sunday - she has to be at the studio in Kanata for 11am. So depending on where we decide to start from...Brent and I will be good to go by 1115am. Does that work for you guys? Nicole, are you in Kanata?
  • Hola,

(I will do up a quick note on FB too just in case) Got Chloe's dance sched for this weekend, she's dancing Saturday from 10am to 330pm and Sunday from 1pm to 4pm.

How do you guys feel about running at 10am on Sunday? Also...we would be up for an indoor group ride Saturday followed by run if anyone else is game? What say you all image
  • I'm game for the run on Sunday, are we still planning to eat afterward/bring something?
  • Nicole, you in for the run this Sunday? Would you be okay if we came to your place to run this weekend? What time is best for you Nat/Brent?

Anyone else find tonights bike an ass kicker???
  • Last night's bike was indeed an ass-kicker, and my HRM was acting up, HOW EFFING FRUSTRATING.... although the ride was not as much of an asskicker as Saturday's was.

Sunday is good for me, and yup, mi casa es su casa. In terms of timing, is anyone up for an earlier start? I don't know what is feasible for people.

Foodwise, what about having a bite at our place? We could do it up like we did at Brenda and Steve's?

    Holla back.

    N.
  • I agree, that bike last night was a toughie!! We're good to go for Sunday, but won't know our best start time until Thursday when we get Chloe's Sunday dance schedule. I'm all for the pot luck again image
  • pot luck is good for me as well.
  • Cool, great. We'll plan for that then. Nat/Brent, just let us know what time work in terms of C's dancing.

Got my Thurs bike done before 6:30 this morning, felt pretty good, met all my targets, but I have to say they are probably the mentally toughest after Tuesday's brick and Wednesday's run.

Hope everyone else rides well today.
  • Holy smokes...done before 630am? You hardcore man! We'll be doing ours around noon today. Generally speaking, Thursday workouts are my most difficult. Given I have not done weights this week, I am curious to see whether this has any significant impact on my ability to hit my zones?!! Congrats on your successful bike.

Chloe has dance at 1pm - which means we need to be home around the 1230pm mark. We could do an earlier start...what time did you have in mind? 9am? oh, and...we get our new bike babies Friday image
  • 9am would be awesome, if that isn't too early for others.

Thursdays are the only days I do the mornings, for the duration of OS anyway. It's because I have OTC swim on Thurs nights, so I have to ride in the AM to fit it all in. I'm not always that happy about it, believe you me!

Oooooooh, new bikes tomorrow! That's exciting! You'll be dying for the snow to melt fo sho!
  • 9 am start works for us Nicole. We will be there with bells on.
  • Perfect, we'll see everyone on Sunday morning, for a 9am start!

I was thinking of a return trip to the NRC, the roads are super clear again - and it's protected if the wind decides to join us. Does that work? If not, I'll wrestle up another route.
  • What about a run on th canal!
  • That's a great idea, but the Canal would make for an uber long warm up from my place, Steve. :-)

Maybe we can do the canal another week?
  • NRC is good for us. Steve is just trying to be difficult. ignore him. I do.
