Swim Thread

Well it is time to start looking at the pool more seriously as I slide out of OS  to Transition onto IM specific trg. Time to get into the habit of 3/wkly workouts for 12 weeks.I was only in the pool on Sat am. I use the swim ebook when I do begin. I swim Brewer pool Sat am 0700-0830 I now have to find 2 days to fit in and where. I do not use a swim group never have prably never will. FYI. Have we all decided how we will intergate our swim programs?

  • Well I have know settled into my swim program starting to heat up know. Bought my city pass for 3 months so it is official full on game. I looked over all my IM swim results this past week. From my first IM to my most recent. There has only been a difference of 5 minutes good and bad days. Last year being my worst swim time wise but was by far my fittest race in the water and on land. Lesson from last year no matter when in the pool drills and more drills and l stay off the wall for extended times, make every second count. So in saying all that, who is doing what this year to get you in the pool. Me I am a lone wolf, tried a swim group with coaching( not much coaching or comments). It looks like an afternoon Monday and a Friday swim at Pine crest. Potential swim is Wednesday evening at Brewer pool and my signature swim is Brewer 0700 - 0830 for my long days. Thoughts!
  • No set schedule per say. More like fitting in the workouts at any pool available. Really do need to start making swimming a priority. It has been on the back burner for so long I've almost forgotten about it.
  • Swim done today 0700-0830 Sat at Brewer pool. Tough set did pull buoy and fins to get through assigned work and not cook legs for tomorrows race!
  • Hey guys,

I'm really dying to drop out of the OS and get back into the pool. Typically, I swim in the early morning, Mondays and Wednesdays, until the OTC swims end (I swim there on Thursdays). Once they're over, I'll swim Mon, Wed, and Fri mornings.

It all changes a bit when the rivers and lakes warm up, then I try to juggle things around more to accomodate open water swims. But, I did the majority of my training for LP last year in the pool, with great results, my swim was fantastic - if it ain't broke.....

The only thing I might do this season is pick up a swimP3 to fight the boredom during piles and piles of laps.
