IMSG 2010- week 2 of 12 MOJO thread
Finally done with HI winter race season with Valentine's Biathlon yesterday (5k run-1000m swim) and then Great Aloha Run this morning which is 13K ish(8.15 mi) so will try and get on track for upcoming week.. Vdot based on the biathlon is slower than just an afternoon run a week ago. I seem to consistently feel icky in the morning and run better in the afternoon. Will work out for IM I guess. GAR will be this weeks long run as I'm on call the scheduled day(Thurs) and a long run doesn't really fit into the workday. Will actually get one of the long rides in this upcoming weekend and am looking forward to that. One of my friends here(a former ENer) got laid off from work and all I could think today was that I would love her new 'schedule' for the next 11 plus weeks. Instead I've got work- up to 80 hrs/wk and 30 at a time, research, presentations and oh yeah, whatever training I can get in. My goal is to show up to St George not excessively burnt out and figure that the plan has enough volume to get me through even if I don't hit every workout. Lynne

My two-week transition is over. Disneyland was great. I was able to bring the bike and talked two of my brothers into bringing theirs. A paved bike trail goes from Disneyland to the ocean. 16 miles one-way, flat, no traffic (except for a few full time campers). I was only able to sneak away from my family (wife + five kids) one of the mornings for a ride and one for a long run. I need to buckle down and get to training, 11 weeks until race day!!
Sneaking out with five kids at home! I can't imagine your SAU account balance when your wife agrees to another IM race! It's got to be huge!

Olivia, when did you student teach at B-CC? I wonder how close we were at almost meeting each other? and when were you at RM? By the way, I am going to stretch our little MCPS reunion across all of the MOJO threads; so look out for it!
