Will be my first time racing anything over an Olympic distance race. Should be interesting. The main goal is to beat my boss by 1 hour but would love to see a 5:30. I think that is doable considering I survive the swim.

This will be my first HIM. I'm only in my second season of triathlon, but I'm hooked. I did 4 sprints, NYC Oly, and a Du last year. Did my first half-mary Feb 6th. So I'm new but inspired by EN!

This will be my first Half-Ironman. I am stoked for this race as I will have some family in town for the event. Family is always a good motivational tool to prepare well and give it my all. One week after this race I will be moving to Hong Kong for a year. It through off some if not most of my 2010 race plans, but it's Hong Kong. My goal is to break 5:15.

This will be my 3rd HIM, my first was in 1990(!). My goal is to to break my HIM PR set at Gulf Coast in 2007 of 4:56:46 where I had a great bike and a horrible run. Looking forward to applying some EN-style execution with power on the bike and pace on the run!

This will be my first HIM. I have done some sprints and olys last year and looking forward to this HIM. This is my B race with my A race being in Sept.
I can not imagine doing a HIM or Full Ironman without EN and the training programs. My family will be joining me and looking to not only finish but be competitive.

Goal for the race is to not walk. All other previous half Ironman races, I struggled on the run needing to walk a significant portion.
I'm moving up to the 40-44 AG this year. Yipes!
Driving in from Pace, FL (in the NW panhandle).
This will by my 7th HIM and my second attempt at the FL 70.3. My goal is to beat my previous time on the FL 70.3 course. I have not had any access to up until now, so all I will have is a month of swimming practice to get into the groove. I figure if I can survive the Tide, the Ride and Stride should be OK given some EN pacing guidelines.
Remember to hydrate. Even that early in the year, Orlando can be hot and humid. Also, the run course gets very clogged up when you are on your second and third loops, so just grin and bear it!
Tracey:
The swim course is pretty nice. Wave starts vice mass start and it's pretty wide open. That means it's not too hard to find a groove with some open water and just swim without worrying about the usual washing machine of an IM start.
Bike course is pretty flat. They may have changed it ever so slightly from when I did this race in '08, but there's not a lot of hills in and around ORL. Clermont maybe, but we aren't going there during this race.
The run course is not too much fun IMHO. Three laps and it gets very crowded. Lots of people walking, low on water/Gatorade. The run course is on some of the paths that Disney ATVs use to get around, so it's dry grass and dust. And again, due to the three lap run, the course gets very crowded. It was hard for me to keep a good pace weaving in and around that many people.
Conditions can vary, but count on warm and humid. That way if it's anything less, you won't be surprised. Ensure you hydrate well several days prior to the race, and keep on top of hydration on the bike to set yourself up for a good run.
You can PM me for any further details.
