Week 7

This week is kicking my butt!  I can't believe how wasted my legs feel.  Last week was a snap compared to this week.  I did the long run yesterday and there was no way I could get down to the prescribed times for the last hour of the workout (imagine a human snail).  Today, I'm hobbling & walking like an old man.  I'm wondering if it's an accumulation thing from last week with the race simulation.   How's are the rest of you doing?

  • Yeah, I know what you are feeling. I am not feeling too hot this week; with all the hurting knee and the fatigue I have been laying pretty low this week. Took 2 days completely off, 30min easy run on Wed, 30min easy bike on Thursday and Swam for the first time since 2 weeks ago. With my knee I am trying to decide if I should for for a long run and a long bike this weekend or if I should do the normal back Saturday and Sunday. Thoughts?
Anyway, hang in there Steve, I am sure things will turn around soon for us!
I can't believe it is about 5 weeks away!
  • Sounds like you're on your way back from your crash Wei. That was no fun to read about, and I'm sure it was horrifying for you!

I've been feeling OK physically this week, but still dog tired. Seems like that's just my reality these days. It's a real struggle for me to get through my work days and then hang on through the day until it's time for bed. Amazingly tough.

My long run this week was indoors on the treadmill thanks to the spring snow. Ugh! No fun!
  • What happened to week 5 and 6? I guess 7 is gone now as well. The time if flying, we will being standing at the edge of the lake in no time. I can't complain about my weather it has been great 70's clear and sunny. We should have rain most of this week so I will be back on the trainer. I skipped out early on Thursday for my long run. 65-70, sunny, just shorts and t-shirt it felt great...except for the fact that my legs are jello. It actually felt like I was running on stubs (no feet) at one point.

Hope everyone has a great week!!

  • Wei, I missed your story about the bike crash.  What happened?  Also, how do you pronounce your name?

Olivia, irongirl how do you continue to plug through day by day?  Impressive!

Tom, yeah it's coming fast.   Have you had a few workouts to help solidify your confidence?

It will be good to see everyone in a  few weeks.  We're going to start tapering soon.  Yes!!!!!!
