Hey Abbey, Welcome! Super cool have you BACK with us. I'm here help you with getting back into it and sync'd up.

Challenge Roth for the second time around! What a cool race. I have heard the crowds and experience is just fantastic. I'm thinking of putting Challenge Roth on my bucket list - just for the race experience.

Since this is your second time around, let me know what you are interested in, and I'll point you in the right direction. Our goal is to not only make you fitter, but smarter, and offer you the help and experience of our entire team to put together a race you race be proud of!

If any questions you have getting re-started - chat with me here in this forum or schedule another call with me here: https://calendly.com/new-member-phone-call/1

I saw that your Garmin was sync'd with Final Surge last spring. It still should be but if your first few workouts don't post you may have to go back and sync it again.

    Here's the reminder:

Connect only one! Chose either Strava OR Garmin. Strava works better if you ride on Zwift!

Here are some other things to consider:

#1 Remember to Subscribe to your Coach Thread.

Subscribe to your Coach Thread and get an email when we respond. Your Coach Thread is the best way to get a hold of us. It documents all of your training questions, its always here for your reference.

    Here is how:

#2 Get setup in Final Surge.

Sync your Garmin or Strava account with Final Surge. All your workouts will upload automatically.

Connect only one! Chose either Strava OR Garmin. Strava works better if you ride on Zwift!

#3 Down load the Final Surge App

Consider downloading the Final Surge App. This makes it way easier to add comments about how you felt, ate, weather, and paces etc. Those are all super helpful to you as you track your progress, prepare and plan your for your race.

We definitely want to see those hours, miles, and heart beats - but we also want to know how you felt, mood, how mentally easy or hard the workout was, what you ate and drank on those long rides (helps dial in your fueling and hydration for long races), what went good (as a reminder) and what you want to work on next time. This takes your Final Surge account from just workout data to a full on training log - where you see your progression and become a smarter athlete.

To make comments, select the activity and click on the "pencil" icon to tap "how I felt" or "perceived effort." You can add a few notes about what you ate/drank, how you felt mentally, the weather or any aches etc. Those comments are really handy when you are comparing workouts, tailoring your own training, evaluating progress and planning for your ride. It also makes it easy to look at and plan for your upcoming workouts. Just a quick not goes a long way.

    #5 Smart Trainer Integration

We have workouts already built for Zwift and Trainer Road for the OutSeason, HIM and IM plans. If you have a smart trainer and a Zwift or Trainer Road account, download the workouts for Zwift to your computer or login to Trainer Road library and get after it inside.

    SignIn

    http://members.endurancenation.us/TrainingPlan/TrainingPlanCentralPage.aspx#outseason

For Zwift: Unzip the workouts into Documents -> Zwift -> Workouts -> "rider number" folder on the device you use to stream Zwift. My "rider number" is 126713. It will be the only numbered folder under workouts.

    Hi Matt,
Thank you; it’s good to be back! It was a hard decision to leave but an easy decision to return.

I think my EN footer has confused you (I haven’t worked out how to update it yet). I’m doing IM Estonia this year, not Roth. But I do plan on returning to Roth in 2021.
Thanks for the instructions on Final Surge.

If I have any questions I’ll be in touch

    All the best
    Abbey

    Hi @matt limbert

Do you have a link for the Zwift workouts for the Half IM and the Full IM plans? The link you sent above seems to be for the Outseason.

    Thanks in advance

    @ABBEY BONNER

Here is the link for the Half: https://app.box.com/s/ynnhhk4dinvudqsjfectdbdggwi050aa

Here is the link for the Full: https://app.box.com/s/0k52r4nzb0aq9rvmf2gby8uce5mlq4z5

Pro tip. Download and copy all Levels 1, 2, 3. Then you can chose what level you want to do based on how you are feeling and time available.

As bonus round info! Have you seen this?! Coach Patrick goes over the minimalist plan

Let me know what you think and how that works.

    Oh, more more thing:

Did you check out our Zwift GroupMe team text group yet?

This is where the rest of the team coordinates routes and times to meetup and ride together. See video of what it is all about here: http://members.endurancenation.us/Community/GroupMe(TeamText).aspx

@ABBEY BONNER Just checking in with you. Saw a great ride this past weekend. How is it going for you?

  • Options

@matt limbert after a busy and stressful week last week I have taken a couple of days off training to Re-Set.

My 70.3 in May is cancelled and it is unlikely that my IM scheduled for August will not go ahead. If it does, I am doubtful it will be safe to travel to Estonia anyway. So; I have gone through Patrick's COVID-19 guidance and I have adjusted my schedule as follows:

30th March: stop Half IM Plan, start Outseason 14 week Bike Focused Plan & add Core and Swim cord session.

18th May: start 12 week IM Plan if it looks like this is still going ahead. If not, carry on with Outseason Plan to the end (28th June); then re-assess - if no races are on the horizon at this point I'll consider a Get Faster Plan or something along those lines.

Does this sound OK? Please point out if I'm "off piste" with this.

@Coach Patrick thank you so much for my "welcome back" card which I received in the post last week. It was a nice touch and it really brightened up my day!

I hope you guys are safe and well?

    @ABBEY BONNER

Way to go! You are spot on for adjusting your training! 👊 Yes, Outseason (Bike intensity, run durability + swim cords and core), then audible to IM race specific block if the race is still on - or you transfer to another race. If no race then - yes - get faster or something along those lines. In that case, there might be a fall race that you might get interested in and that combination of training blocks makes perfect sense. You are "on piste" ⛷️

Bummer about the Half in May and the outlook for Estonia. I really love that you have pivoted so easily and have have the mental agility here. Your positivity is a super power. 😀

I look forward to you getting after in in the OutSeason.

P.S. I love your GroupMe photo BTW.
