Hi @Liz Hickox Under the "Learning" section on the front page, there is an UltraRunning section. Here is the link: http://members.endurancenation.us/Resources/UltraRunning.aspx
There is a lot of good info and race reports from other R2R2R attempts in there.
@Liz Hickox @Gabe Peterson @John Withrow @Clark Mitchell And I have all completed R3 on separate occasions. I think JW is the only one to write a report. @Patrick Large bailed on an attempt last year and wrote about it for your searching pleasure. Train train train vertical research research research, pick a decent weather day not too hot and no chance of snow or flash flooding think March/April Sept/October , research the water sources, and never pass one up, carry a water filter as back up, go with a partner (never alone), join the group on FB for tons of data, reports, and current info. This is an amazing experience and one that most can accomplish with proper prep, however it’s serious endeavor not to be underestimated. Fire away with questions as they come up.
@Liz Hickox - I would be interested in joining this adventure depending on the date. Also curious if you are going to fly or drive there😳, as I would definitely join a road trip! You know how to find me offline!
Here is @John Withrow 's RR from a few years ago, insightful (and funny)
Thanks All! Looks like an epic event!
Read through them all, and it occurred to me to ask my own brother, who is a pretty successful ultra runner and very successful Skimo guy ( 10 hard rocks, Leadvilles, all with top ten finishes, etc., he was National Geographic Magazine's 'Adventurer of the Year).
He's got a very cool, and informative site w pretty detailed reports, in case anyone wants to check out someone else's experience!
