training ride in Cambridge, MD (Eagleman course) Sun. 5/30

Hi all!  I'm planning to ride the Eagleman course on Sunday, May 30 -- as my second RR to prep for the race a few weeks later.

I suspect some DC Tri clubbers will be along (need to post on their forum).  I'm planning to clip in at 8am for 3ish hours of headwinds, followed by an hour run in the sun.  Good times!

Hope to see you out there.  Meet at Great Marsh Park (the transition area) and we'll roll from there.  If you're not familiar, there is a cue sheet on the tricolumbia.org web site, but the road is very well marked (with black or red spray paint and "EM" with arrows... not to be confused with "CM" which is the Cheasepeake Man IM).

  • Becky, I might be down there with a small group of friends. We won't decide for another week or so. Will let you know if we decide to make the trip.

  • Count me in! I'm in California this week with the DH! No swimming or biking, but plenty of running. I'm racking up the SAU's since IM Wisconsin training starts after EM! I hope everyone is having a good week!
  • great news, Kate!  Looking forward to it!  Dan, hope you (and your friends) join us!  I can't believe it's less than a month away!  At least then I get a week of transition (vaca with DB) before general prep for 8 weeks...

  • Becky,

sorry to post this here, still in California and my outgoing email is not working. I tried to change the hotel for EM to my credit card but they have already charged you. If it is OK with you I can give you a check when we do our RR Memorial Day weekend.

  • bump!  welcome to week 10... the RR is this weekend... hope some folks will join us in Cambridge!

    (and Kate - that'll work)

  • I'm out Becky. Too much going on this weekend. Planning my RR on local rolling hills on Monday. Hope to meet you and others in two weeks!

  • bump...good luck with the RRs this weekend wherever you are
  • Hey, Becky, how'd the RR go in Cambridge on Sunday?  How are the headwinds?

  • Hi Chris!  Kate and I were out there Sunday... and I think the day was pretty race-day like.  Winds the whole way, but tolerable until about mile 40... when you hit a wall and suffer til about mile 51 or so.  The run was HOT.  I just posted my RR...

hope you had a good day at HP.

speaking of nothing, Dan (the DB) made a dinner suggestion - the hotel restaurant at the Grand Hyatt, I think.  I asked him to remind me of the name and when I get it I'll see if they have a menu online to post... would like to try to make a reservation this week.
