First EN Post from a Newbie

OK, I thought I broke through with my first EN post earlier this morning but in hind sight I have no idea what I did, I enetered a comment without creating or being in a topic and off it went. Anyway, I think this will be my official first post in the EN Haus. I am excited to be part of EN joining this month May 2010 on the heels of completing IMSG. Today is my first day in the OS plan following 3 weeks of recovery and one off workouts here and there. The plan is to do 8 weeks of OS then jump into week 5 of the 20 week IM plan in preparation for the Silverman full here in my home town of Las Vegas. I am heading out to do my first FTP. I've owned a PT since I got my first road bike but today was the first time I figured out how to use the interval feature, it is never to late for a new beginning! I wasted a lot of brain time trying to figure out where to do the FTP and settled on a flat loop with no lights and only right turns. After 3 weeks of very little it should establish a base FTP that is easily built upon. I realize that accountability is a big part of being part of the EN team and I am looking forward to posting my FTP result (maybe I won't be after I have the result in hand!). Other than the data tool I am not sure where I would post my daily workouts. Any comments would be appreciated.

  • Geoff, Welcome!

No place here to post daily workouts. Most people just use WKO to log stuff. Some use Training Peaks. Lots of third party platforms that are free or near free.

I'd post your race results for IMSG. Just did the race also and have been working at getting non training stuff done around the house and now it's time to get more serious about training again.

I'd also check out the Wiki under the Resources menu at the top. Lots to read! Ask lots of questions and join in on discussions. Mostly, have fun!

  • Thanks Tom. The FTP went well, I am looking forward to uploading the results into WKO and establishing my first training base under the EN platform.
  • Welcome Geoff....enter the FTP and let the pain (and gain!) begin!
