  • Same plan for me, too. Showers in the forecast image Will hate to ride on CompuTrainer for 4hrs...Good luck everyone.
  • Oh Yasko, Computrainer for 4 hours!! UGH!!! I hope that isn't the deal for you! Or for me either!! I hate having to wait until 7 a.m. to get into the pool for my swim, but it doesn't open any sooner than that. How is everyone's testing going this week? I did not do the bike test, and probably won't, until next week. My HR monitor took a nose dive. Did do a 5K run test this morning, and it was crappy. Same with a swim last night. But, I haven't been eating properly, and know it. So, it is what it is, until I change things...
  • Hello all, I am in week two of my 12 week plan. A lot of riding in store for the weekend, luckly its what I usually do anyway. I dead when the hard stuff comes along.

@Yasko, you cant ride in the rain? Where do you live? Here in Florida you can expect to be stuck in a short downpour at anytime. Of course nobody likes to clean their bike after a wet ride either.

I wish I could get to one of these iamTri ride the course weekends. Coming from Tampa its just too far away. We dont have many hills to climb so I will just have to ride across some of the bridges a little more to simulate. I have to do some open water swims off the beach to get any real straight distance swims in. I would rather take a chance with the the sharks than an alligator in one of the local lakes.

I'm ready for a hot and humid weekend!
  • Hi Richard. I can, but I prefer not to from safety standpoint. I live in Olympia, Washington, and we have lots of hills, and I hate to slip and fall especially downhill. Fortunately, it looks like it will be dry and sunny tomorrow, so I should be able to ride outside. Yay!
  • Hi folks. I RSVP'ed to Bob yesterday for the June 12th ride. Hope to see many of you there. Got a Power Tap and wheel from Rich and put it on last weekend. The bike is in the bike shop for deep maintenance this weekend. My 12 week plan starts Monday and I can't wait. I did the American Triple T Ohio two weeks ago - IM distance over four races over a weekend. Did a 13:24 over a very hilly run and bike course. Carl Bromer was there too and we got to meet. But he crashed on his bike a week agowhich put him on the disabled list so won't be joining us for IMLOU. He is a great testimony of seeing the grace of God in his circumstances and is thankful to have come out ok. Hope to see you next Saturday!
  • Hey Scott, so glad to hear you'll be at L'Ville on June 12th! I'm sure I'll meet you there! I will be wearing my EN jersey. congrats on the American Triple T!! Some of my fellow Master's group members did it. So sorry to hear about Carl crashing his bike! I hope he is okay.
Good luck everyone, who is doing the long day tomorrow. I hope the rain holds off here in NW IN, but it is sounding like it might be torrential! Plan B puts me on the trainer, and treadmill...YUK...
Go Rock it everyone!!! Will be interesting to hear how everyone's day went. image
  • Hi Everyone. How was your long day on Saturday? Mine didn't go as well as I planned. The swim and 2/3rd of bike went pretty well. I felt so good up till then. My mistake was I didn't consume enough calories during bike. I had a nutrition bottle for about 500 cal, and ate some solid food for about 150 cal. My bike ended up being about 4.5 hrs, I got more sweaty than usual because I didn't remove my jacket thinking I had to train for the hot & humid L'ville image, so I was dehydrated as well. When I started running, I felt hungry, quickly had some gels, and had 1 more gels in the middle during the run, but I guess I wasn't able to catch up and bonked in the last mile or so. I just couldn't go... aghh, I did fine with taking ~ 200 cal/hr (I am small, 118lbs) during my last 2 IMs, but I think I went harder than zone 3 most of the time plus got sweaty which screwed up my electrolyte level (I only took 1 hammer Endurolyte, should have taken at least 4). Most of the road I rode was chip sealed, gradual uphill, and I just couldn't find a good time to eat and drink... Anyway, good thing I am learning now, and will be better prepared in the next brick workout. Since I don't use a power meter, I had to go with HR to figure out my pace. For those who trains with HR only, do you find keeping zone 2 is too easy (too slow pace?) I ended up in Z4 ~ Z5 for the whole course. Maybe I should re-do the bike test again.
  • Hi all! so sorry I haven't yet posted my workout from last weekend. Will try to get that done in the next day or so! It went pretty well. I was happy with it.
Scott, hope to meet you Saturday in the 'Ville! I'll be on the black and yellow Specialized Transition, with 'Queen B' stickers on it! I'm swimming, then doing the 80 mile bike option.
  • OK, so I will be there this weekend along with Scott and Barbara. Anyone else? I am on a red and white Cervelo P2. I am hoping that I can get there in time to drive the course Friday night but it will be close. It's a long drive from Savannah. See you guys there!
