Race Weekend Admin Letter and Thread
TeamEN IMCDA,
So...whatc'all doing in a couple weeks? :-)
The purpose of this email is to consolidate everything we have going on for you in one place. Note that we need you to do some things for US, but since you now likely have more time on your hands and are going nuts anyway...that shouldn't be a problem. Let's get started:
My Contact Info and Staying in the EN Loop:
Rich Strauss
rich@endurancenation.us
626-203-3278
On Twitter: www.twitter.com/richstrauss
TeamEN: www.twitter.com/teamen
As I do stuff, go places during the weekend, I'll tweet it and push it into the twitter feed on the EN homepage. I plan to be at/near downtown all weekend, usually either at Java or Calypso. If you want to have lunch, or need someone to pat your belly, or slap some sense into you, I'm happy to help!

IMCDA Race Weekend Schedule
- Thurs: 6:30p Team Dinner at the Wine Cellar. Details below.
- Friday:
- 8:30ish: EN Swim. Look for your fellow EN members at the swim start and go for a dip. Just be sure to be finished in time for...
- 10am, Four Keys of Ironman Execution Pre-Race Talk (mandatory!!). Meet at the K-Swiss booth in the Expo, and we'll walk somewhere from there to actually conduct the talk.
- Carbo Dinner (check your Race Guide schedule): go to the CDA Forum and we'll try to arrange a table for us all to sit at.
- Saturday:
- Nuthin': just sleep in, get your stuff checked in, get out of the expo, and watch a movie or otherwise chill. I'll be around downtown if you need any last minute advice.
- Sunday:
- 7am -- RACE START!!
- During the race:
- DEFINITELY look for each other out there and flash the EN Gang Sign!
- We will work on a selecting a place where your family can go to meet, hang out and cheer with other EN family members. Stand by.
- I will likely be at/near mile 18 or the run turnaround until about 6p. Then I head into town and try to see everyone at/near the finishline.
- 9pm -- Team Post-Race beerz and such at the CDA Brewery
- Let's see what the pulse/schedules of the team are during the weekend but we will likely be able to set a time and place for coffee, etc. I need to be on the road to Spokane by 9a for my flight back to LA.
Team Dinner Details
- Thursday, 6:30pm at The Wine Cellar, 313 Sherman Avenue.

If you can't make the dinner, please stop by the restaurant later to say hi, or you can find me (and likely others) at the Coeur d'Alene Brewery afterwards.
Getting You Plugged into Our Race Weekend Stuff
We do a number of things and create stuff on race weekend to plug you and your family into the race weekend experience. But to make that happen for you, we need some stuff from you:
- Race Weekend Tracking Speadsheet: please give us your info, especially your bib numbers, so we can make sure you are entered into our Race Day Tracking Speadsheet -- a top secret tool we've created that will be updated automagically with the entire team's splits on race day. Just point your family to it and they'll be able to track you on race day! Note, we'll get the link to you as soon as we go live with late next week.
- Give us your bio: we have a tradition of creating a blog post before every race that tells your fellow athletes, fans, and families a bit more about you. Please email rich@endurancenation.us with:
- Your name, city, age, and picture.
- How many IM's you've done and your PR, if you'd like to share that as well.
- Your goals for the race.
- Anything else you'd like us and your team to know about you.
- Deadline: Sunday, June 20, so I can get the blog post up first thing Monday, in time for you to see it and share it with your friends and family.
Race Execution Stuff
As you know, we have a ton of race execution resources in the Haus, to ensure that you become a Race Day Ninja just like your teammates! Here they are again:
- Ironman How-To -- MUST READ, this has the information and/or links to other stuff that you'll need
- Race 101 Seminar Series
- Four Keys eBook
Any questions? Please post here. Thanks!

1. What if I want to add a person to dinner? Paypal page didn't give me that choice.
2. Race tracking spreadsheet link did not appear in Google.
Please pay twice. Try the spreadsheet again, it works for me.
Lisa,
Dinner is at 6:30p so you should be fine.
If you want bonus points, bring Rich coffee.
