20 Weeks starts today!
Greeting IMFL racers!
20 weeks till race day! Still a little early to be in the "im training for Ironman" mentality but everyone should be into general prep at this point -- I'm looking forward to getting into the IM specific training as we move closer to raceday. I had a good swim today and am vowing to me more consistent and just "FOLLOW THE PLAN".
I'm keeping tabs on the Oil Spill and hoping it will spare Panama City Beach, or at least not affect it so much that the swim is cancelled. But, we can't control that so its better not to worry about it and just prepare as usual. Living in Biloxi MS, the oil spill is the lead story every night on the news.
Hope everyone is doing well, uninjured and ready to train.
Mark

Thanks for the reminder...can't believe it's that "close" already. Time to start paying attention!!!

Hey Mark! I just had the thought of starting a IMFL - Week 1 thread and I saw this one! Great minds think alike!
I just did a HIM and took a week off and, per the coaches' advice, I'm gonna do the last 4 weeks of OS then 16 weeks of IM training (although in these first 8 weeks I'm gonna do some "fun" races before things get too serious). Kind of relieved to back off of volume a bit to work on my speed... especially after 6 weeks of the HIM prep.
The oil is definitely on my mind... fingers crossed we'll be able to swim!
Hi guys,
I'm on the IR right now for running, but hope to get back to running in a week or so. I never thought I would stare so longingly at the running workouts on the plan!
It feels good to have a "group" again - I have missed the solidarity of my Outseason group.
Train hard, friends!
@Kristen - me too... going through OS group thread withdrawal I started an Eagleman training thread... and for a few weeks it was just me and Nemo til it caught on.
It's definitely nice to compare notes with folks who are doing the same training and gearing up for the same race. Take care of yourself... the running will come (and some day soon you'll wonder why you were missing it... wishing for a day off
).
Cross your fingers - my foot feels tons better, and I'm going to attempt a little jog tomorrow. Wish me luck!
I hope everybody's trainning is going well ! I can't wait to meet all of you at IMFL !

I am excited to focus on Ironman training and still have sights on HIM in Sept.
I finally got my power meter. My first ride with it I was all over the board. Will it get easier over time to hold a set wattage?
