IMWI Tri Rally Schedule -- FINAL VERSION, PLEASE DOWNLOAD

Hi All,

Please download the final schedule, as a .pdf, from the link below:

IMWI Tri Rally Schedule

Notes:

  • I was not able to secure a venue for the swim clinic so, unfortunately, that's not going to happen.
  • Note the Friday cut off for dinner payment. Not really a cut off, but rather I need to give them a minimum, that I can go over, but not under. Would be great if you could get that payment done by Friday. Having everyone, members and non-members, eat together on Friday was one of the highlights of the LP rally. I hope you decide to join us!
  • Whenever possible I've used the Clarion as our headquarters: presentations will be in a large conference room, the Friday dinner will be there, we are starting our rides from the parking lot, etc.
  • If you have a smart phone it would be super, super groovy if you could follow @TeamEN and @RichStrauss on Twitter. The camp has a lot of moving parts, I'm by myself (Michele Moreno has agreed to help me. Yeah!!), and I will be tweeting updates or any schedule changes and pushing them out on the web.

Thanks, looking forward to it!

  • Hey Rich, thanks again for organizing all of this. Hopefully you and some others will join me for the HHH ride option on Saturday.

The link to pay for dinner and the link the HHH course are both not working for me.
  • Hey Matt,

Thanks for the heads up. Links are fixed, please download again. Thanks!

  • Matt, I am so riding the HHH on Saturday.

Here's a link to the map of useful places the chicas put together for camp:

View Moo Camp Map in a larger map

  • Don't like the sound of Horribly, Hilly or Hundred on their own, let alone strung together... but I'll give it a shot.

  • Thanks Rich, it worked and I paid.

Beth, are you thinking of riding from the hotel to the HHH route and back or just driving out to the start? My guess is it is about a 25mile ride from the Clarion to HHH route...but at least it is mainly flat.
  • Taking off Sat am by 5ish....oh, darn, have to miss the HHH

  • is HHH a 100 k? or 100 miles?

I'll just say that after riding HHH, IMWI wont seem all that bad.

    is HHH a 100 k? or 100 miles?

Both.....100 k is I think around 66 miles and the 200k is 120 +.....the site days 124 miles....but not sure I actually rode that far   Forgot to turn on cpu a couple of times, so that could be accurate.  All I know it was a very looooong harrrrd day of cycyling!  It gave me quite a large mental six pack though!

  • Interesting article about HHH.....might want to read before riding

  • Thank you Rich for all the planning! Can't wait to see y'all!!
  • I hadn't thought that far yet. I'm carless for the weekend, so this decision may be at the mercy of people who will give me a ride there.

  • Thanks Rich for the planning. I bummed about the swim Clinic but everything else is going to be a blast! I'm considering the HHH. image
  • Kathy - thanks for the HHH article. I did the 200k this year - great ride, but quite a humbling experience.
  • ROLL CALL!!!

I know Rich has a "register here" somewhere, but whatever list that is has the entire world on it.  I'd like to get a sense for how many actual EN Teammates are going to be at the Rally.  I have a pretty good idea of the Chicas (since we've been planning for months), but I don't know about the Boyz.  In addition, would be nice to have some contact numbers for folks in case of emergencies.  Soooo, I'm asking EN Team members planning to be at the rally to please update this google doc with your basic info:

    https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc...y=CMmrgJkI

Mark-very humbling indeed.  The way I feel is I am lucky or rather blessed to be alive!  Some of those descents I tell ya, I was hanging on for dear life!  I almost preferred the climbs....well almost   Awesome performance though to finish the 200k!

  • I get a "don't have permission" message when i click on the link to go to the google doc. Not sure why.

Anyway, I'm coming, and will be there for the whole thing. Not sure what else is on the list, so I'll give contact info:
    William Jenks, wsjenks@iastate.edu, 515-451-4711
  • William, try the link again, it is set up so that as long as you have the link you can edit it. You may have been trying at the same time someone else was already in the file editing. If it doesn't work, just PM me your emergency contact info, arrival/departure dates, and lodging info. I'll fill it in for you
  • I'm so lost with all the Imoo rally threads/chica stuff.

Karin and I will be arriving from a wedding Friday night or Saturday morning. We're in for the team dinner on Saturday night. I doubt we'll run in Madison on Sunday. I would rather ride. I can run in Chicago

  •  I posted this in the IMWI Week 11 thread as well, but just in case you didn't see it there, I'll put it here too:

     TRAINING PLAN ADJUSTMENT FOR CAMPERS!

Marianne & I hopped on the Coaches Chat today with Rich and asked him for advice on how to modify the plan with Camp next week.  Here's what he said:

    next week:

    Mon-Wed normal

Thurs = likely travel for most

Fri-Sun = camp (LR on Sun)

    Mon, Tues off

Wed = back to normal schedule

Thurs= LR, that's the priority, ie, be prepared to cut the Wed stuff short in order to preserve the Thurs long run

  • Thanks. Got in to the spreadsheet this time. Not sure what the issue was before.

Thanks for posting Rich's comments. Couldn't scroll back far enough to get them right.

I'm also planning to ride on Sunday morning...you guys are welcome to come with me....i'll be pretty tired by then.

  • I'm not running and my bike will be packed and at FedEx by Sunday so I'll be....riding a borrowed bike on the run course and throwing scones at Beth...

  • Sorry to duplicate this post, which I put in another thread, but my roommate for the trip just cancelled this morning. I have a room at the Clarion and am now looking again for a roommate. I know that at least at one point Trevor Garson was also stuck as a single, and I'm trying to reach him, but he's traveling (and I don't know if he has a smartphone or computer access...anyone have a number?). If there's anyone else who would like to share a room also, please let me know.

My contact info is wsjenks@iastate.edu or 515/451-4711.

    Cheers,
    William

Now that is high quality coaching there. Is that the chica version of Rocky?

William -- I think Kathy Nelson might also be roommate-less.

  • Beth and Kathy-

Thanks. Although I'm pretty harmless, I too would have some splainin to do I'm sure! David Wonn called me to share and we're good to go.

  • I'm glad everyone found roommates of the appropriate gender -- I'm sure everyone is harmless, but I guess that might burn a few SAUs.

  • There are a few roadies and tri guys doing a IMWI loop from Atkins Verona Bike Shoppe tomorrow (July 3) morning.

We're leaving around 8:15 and will welcome all comers.
