Non Wetsuit swim????

How about the rumor of LP being a non-wetsuit swim!!!  Say it ain't so!!! I'm having flashbacks of Louisville last summer! ST has a thread going on and on about it. Anyone heard anything about that here?

  • Not likely to happen, but if it does, just realize, we're all in the same boat.
  • The lake is deep and typically cold enough to be legal. There will be lots of rumors. It all sorts itself out when the gun goes off. image
  • The promotors are going to do whatever they can to make it wetsuit legal for the age groupers, even if that means burying the thermomator in the bottom of the lake. Don't sweat it and see if you can find something else to worry about. I'm sure there is something that a triathlete can find to worry about leading up to an IM. image
  • This was a question that came up last weekend @ Moo Camp. Rich commented that, "WTC will do WHATEVER it takes" to find a spot that makes their races wetsuit legal.

  •  Like others have said, I'm sure WTC will find a spot to make it wet suit legal.

However, leading up to next weekend, with chatter on ST etc, good practice for staying within your BOX. Focus on what is important NOW, getting list done, packing, race plan etc

    WELL SAID TRACY!!!!!!!

  • curious how that might be possible when the temp range has and will be 50ish to mid 70ish!! Too funny maybe they are talking about lake Placid Florida?  I also heard a rumor they were going to change the bike course and make the entire thing flat.

  • I swam in Mirror Lake today.  Much warmer than that lake usually is at this time of the year but not nearly warm enough for a non-wetsuit swim.  After an hour in the water in a sleeveless suit, i actually felt a chill.  The forecast for the next week has nights as low as low 40's.  Bring your wetties and some bodyglide.

  • Thanks for the comments...@Tracy excellent suggestion to stay in the box! Its all good!!! Can't do much about race conditions anyway
    See you guys up there!
