going grocery shopping tonight for what i'll need. i am on week 1 of race prep.
i have been running once a week with real runners and i am the biggest dude out there...they might even be starting to suspect that i am a triathlete!!!!!

correction: i meant to say i have been running with "pure runners".
we all our 'real' runners, just with different objectives!!!!

Just be smart about it, check Rich's protocol (now in the wiki too) on how he's dialing things in! Good luck...

yes, will be careful and thanks for the referral to Rich's wiki.
it's going to be tough (i.e. woke up hungry!), but i am motivated and eager to see how it all translates performance wise on race day.
oh and went shopping for healthy stuff vs pure INFINIT and balance bars.

week 1 out of 12: 167lbs;
week2: 167lbs; oh man, this is going to be harder than i thought
...
day 2 of week 2: food poisoning!!!!
all night long => day 3 of week 2: 164lbs!!!
cut down on breads, tortillas (i.e. a constant staple for me). portions also controlled during the first week. did not log calories, but may have to start. still required a spoonful of nutella in the evening after dinner to avoid full blown hunger.
however, to be honest, i am not suffering that bad yet hunger-wise and i probably should be, so will try to make sure i am not wimping out.

Your goal is not really "unreasonable." One to two pounds a week is healthy weight loss. I just lost 19 pound in like 15 weeks.
Favorite snack that makes me feel full at night = Green apple with a tablespoon of almond butter. Yummy!
Also, shakes during the day with almond butter blended in helps me feel satiated.
@john: no, i have not been logging the calories, but will start using the loseIt app straight away.
those shakes sound like a great idea and will incorporate them ASAP.
next weigh in is this coming monday, start of my week 3.
