  •  Just looked at my TSB from this morning. No wonder I had such a great run. I was at 23!! I wish the race were this weekend! I'd be rockin' it!!

  • Hey Jim Hansen, haven't heard from you in a while, I hope your taper is going  well and you are feeling great.   Have you scheduled your pink Pedicure yet?

  • Everyone be safe and smart tomorrow.  Last real ride ( I think, haven't looked at next week) before the big dance.  Enjoy the fact that there is no FTP work in there.  See you all on Thurs.

    Todd

  • Michele--HTH did you get to +25????? I'm jealous. I'm only at +5 and I've taken it down A LOT. Day off for me today (fam here and it's fun), and will ride shorter than 2.5 tomorrow.

You guys do swag your swim TSB in the charts, right????

  • Let the wacky dreams begin! I always have crazy dreams before a big race and one of my pre-race dreams usually has some flavor of the following theme: I'm trying to get to the start and I'm lost (or I'm somewhere in the middle of the race and I'm lost), and almost always there is someone else with me who is depending on me to help them get to where we are going.

But this time there was a new twist.

We are all at the Four Keys talk with R&P (except it's inside a hotel and there is a breakfast buffet). Rich starts the talk by putting on a section of the 4 Keys Video and I think to myself "yeah, I've seen this part before, I'm gonna get something from the buffet". Except when I get to the table there aren't any more coffee mugs. There's coffee, but no mugs. I find a hotel hostess who finds me a glass mug and I pick up a rice crispy treat - except this one is made from whole wheat rice crispy's and dried cherries.

When I get back to the talk the video is over and Rich tells everyone to take a short bio break. So Beth and I head out to find scones and more coffee! We walk around the square in Madison several times and can not find the special scone place we are looking for. Beth is starting to get anxious because we have to get the scones and get back to the talk before it ends because she needs to discuss a new job offer she just received and she needs the Chicas to help her decide what to do. I stop in a shop to ask for directions and find out the scone place we are looking for is not on the square but instead is just off the square on "L" street. As we get close to the shop we run into all the Chicas and R&P who are now done with the 4 keys talk and so we start discussing Beth's new job opportunity that would mean she has to move to Japan (and which somehow is related to a job opportunity I've been given- it's some sort of chain reaction where I have to accept the new job so Beth can get her job??? )

I can't really remember anything after that part- so I don't know if Beth goes to Japan or not. Sounded like a fun job though :-)
  • Nemo -- Fantastic dream! Hm. I could live in Japan. . . .do they have scones?

I had a weird dream, too. I was Sacajawea/Beth doing the run leg up Ironman, and carrying a little papoose on my back. Baby Ironman?

Good run today. Legs are coming back. I had to slow way down at one point because perceived LRP was actually interval pace. I'm taking that as a soon sign.

  • Linda- I was shocked to see 23. But then again I was OFF Thursday because I was sick, and Wednesday was swim only - and short at that. I definitely swag the swim TSB, basically 1 point : 1 minute.

Iron dreams- I have been having a recurring dream that my PT hub is actually a motor. I can hear it humming, but I can't figure out how to make it generate power so that I don't have to pedal. But I want it to be quieter so that no one knows I have it.

For those of us that will be running after dark- Max has obtained some stick on glow lights, the major colors. I will bring them to Madison and probably leave them with him at Mile 18.

Earle didn't leave a big mess, so I didn't have to get on the drainer. Rode my Princess road bike for 3 hours. But I was B-A-D. I chased down every rider I saw ahead of me. Probably did too much work, but it kept the ride interesting. Quick brick run and thought I'd take a dip in the lake to cool off. The wind was ferocious!! My little lake had waves coming to shore that made it look like the ocean. So no thanks. Just went home. Driving to NY tomorrow.
  • ha, I'm with you on the crazy dreams. Before every big race I always dream about being horribly late to or somehow forgetting about the race in some fashion. Typically this involves going out the night before then realizing 'oh crap, the race' as I see people on their way to the start then show up wholly unprepared. Before my marathon I dreamed that I ran it in sneakers and jeans.

Beth, I'm with you on the run. I took yesterday off because I was feeling pretty sluggish, did the final 2.5 hour ride today and then the brick and it was supposed to be TP out and LRP back. The TP bricks sounded impossible to me when I read the plan but both seemed to be super easy in retrospect. My RPE of LRP on the way back in was much closer to HMP.

After the ride and brick today I feel like I actually got a pretty decent workout, which I'm not sure if is a good or a bad thing? My TSB isn't too bad though, only about -5 and thats pretty much it for me since it's now serious taper time. Hope to be in the big positive numbers for next weekend.
  • No crazy dreams here. Just boring sound sleep    Good bike and run this am....2.5 seemed like nothing and I am with you Beth legs felt great...prolly did go faster on run than I should have,,,,but it felt so good!

Beth-me thinks u like scones????    I must go to Lazy Jane's with everyone and have these tremendous scones.

Michele- love it that you were BAD on the bike today...gotta be bad once and awhile

Heading into last week peeps....crazy.  What am I going to do with myself when this is all over...withdrawals for sure.  Guess that is why people sign up for another IM right away.  None for me in 2011 though,,,,targeting 2012.

  • Is there anything we could put on our visors in honor of Trent Prough?? Or a second band??

Great idea, Gina! I'm been thinking Trent all morning.

Maybe we could tape a drill bit to our visors?  There's gotta be something more creative than that! Paging Beth!

  • What is Trent's favorite color? I can stop and pick up ribbon to do the usual ribbon thing for our visors? I can bring little safety pins too.
