IMAZ - 10 Weeks to Go and Counting Down!
Woo-hoo! Almost down to single digits. I tried to get up at 5am this morning for masters swim but the bed had a death grip on me and struggle was futile. I gave up and took the rest. But all was not lost - this evening I managed a quick 2000 yards in the pool followed by a 3 mile run. Monday is always my easiest day anyway. I'll be at the track tomorrow for a good 7 miles and have open water practice Wed evening.
Here's the Sep 10 report on dam reconstruction...still on track: Work is now happening on all three rubber bladders and construction crews are also prepping the dam for the pedestrian bridge. On Monday, crews will roll out Bladder No. 1 and begin installing it with anchor plates and bolts. Foundations have been inspected for safety and all work is being done safely. PCL has maintained a perfect safety record on this project for its employees and for the equipment being installed.

Let's hear your updates.
I did the 40 min run for my beginner plan yesterday and felt like I had not even exercised......so feeling great about that! Also feeling strong after long rides and still riding the high from doing well last Sunday local tri., EN has helped me improve on the bike like crazy.
Also super happy that feel strong AND healthy, no pesky IT band issues (knocking on serious wood right now!).
Going to try my new sleeved wetsuit this weekend, and next week we are single digits, yeah!
Rock on team IMAZ!
Happy training.
Penny shows up and I air the tire up, get a CO2 adapter and start to finish my ride after an hour and something rest. On the way back in, I end up cutting the ride short due to the line of thunderstorms coming up behind me. At 3 hours and 15 minutes I get to the car and the skies open up. I figure it’s raining, but I can still run, right? That’s when the light show starts, and the day is over.
Then when I got home, I downloaded the power meter and look at the ride. 68% of FTP. Crap. My pacing was off and I ended up going too easy. Just perfect. Well, it’s something to learn from as I get ready for RR #1.
PS. To finish out the weekend, a friend’s dog passed away this morning and I became the doggy undertaker while we wait to take him into the vet’s office so they can determine what happened.
Hey all! I'm new to the team, but wanted to jump in and say Hi. I'm racing AZ this year and look forward to the moral support on the course! Also - Thanks for posting the lake / dam updates, I'm in Dallas so not much news of it around here.
